Newly-appointed Superintendent of Police Md Hasanuzzaman has sought the cooperation of journalists to ensure the overall service of Cox’s Bazar. He said the police are determined to maintain law and order in Cox’s Bazar. Top officials of Cox’s Bazar Police led by newcomer SP Md Hasanuzzaman visited Cox’s Bazar Press Club on Tuesday (October 26) at noon. Police Super and members of Cox’s Bazar Journalists Union met.
In an exchange of views held under the chairmanship of Cox’s Bazar Journalists Union President Abu Taher, Superintendent of Police Hasanuzzaman said, “I came to Cox’s Bazar and met the journalists with flowers. I want to do such work in this district.
The SP said,that the police has started work against the drug announced by the government in accordance with the zero tolerance policy.The work will be done to eradicate drugs by identifying the backward-forwards. No criminals including snatching and murder will be exempted.
Noting that traffic congestion in Cox’s Bazar is one of the major problems,the Superintendent of Police said, “Police are taking various initiatives to reduce traffic congestion in Cox’s Bazar. The people of the district will soon see the benefits of this.” At the same time, the police super promised to play a strong role in stopping any extortion, including in the transport sector.Cox’s Bazar Journalists Union General Secretary Jahed Sarwar Sohel addressed the meeting.Additional SP(Headquarters) Pankaj Barua, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists members Advocate Ayashur Rahman, journalist Tofail Ahmed, Abdul Quddus Rana, Md Nazibul Islam and others spoke on the occasion.
